Menurut media Inggris, tato itu merupakan bentuk dukungan terhadap aksi kriminalitas dan terorisme.

Sterling kemudian menjelaskan alasannya memiliki tato itu dan dukungan pun mengalir kepadanya.

Tak hanya itu, kehidupan pribadi Sterling juga kerap mendapat sorotan dari media Inggris.

Kini setelah kritik tersebut berlalu, Sterling mendapat pujian dari warganet karena penampilan gemilangnya bersama Inggris.
