Dalam enam laga yang AC Milan lakoni, Giampaolo baru mampu membawa dua kemenangan dan sudah kalah empat kali.
Hasil tersebut membuat AC Milan berada di peringkat ke-16 klasemen sementara Liga Italia musim 2019-2020.

Media-media Italia melaporkan jika Luciano Spalletti yang akan menjadi suksesor Marco Giampaolo.
Luciano Spalletti sendiri sempat berbicara bahwa ia membantah rumor akan melatih AC Milan.
"Berita itu bohong belaka," ujar Spalletti seperti dilansir BolaSport.com dari Corriere dello Sport.
"Biarkan Giampaolo bekerja karena ia pelatih yang saat ini sedang naik daun di Liga Italia," ucap Spalletti menambahkan.
